Note : Attempt all questions. Each question carries equal marks.

  1. 1.

    Explain any three of the following :

    (a)

    Spherical coordinate system

    (b)

    Method of moments

    (c)

    Magnetic flux density

    (d)

    Ampere's law

    (e)

    Poynting vector.

  2. 2.

    State and explain divergence theorem. Evaluate both sides of the divergence theorem for electric flux density

    D = 3xyâx + x²ây c/m²

    and rectangular parallelopiped formed by the plane x = 0 and 2, y = 0 and 3 and z = 0 and 4.

    Or

    Derive and explain Stokes theorem, divergence and curl of a vector.

  3. 3.

    Explain the concept of equipotential surface. Also explain the electric field due to line charge and sheet charge.

    Or

    State and explain Gauss law. A volume charge distribution is given by

    ρv = 6r c/m³

    min spherical co-ordinates. Find out D using Gauss Law.

  4. 4.
